Who we are

  • Our values

Oak & Audubon is a collection of travel stories told trough fashion. Founder and designer Dan Stroupe shares his travels around the world with color, texture, fabric, and silhouette.

We believe in quality, unique pieces made using slow fashion techniques for all sizes and genders. Our pieces are handmade by the finest coast people in small production workshops or by the designer himself.

Every collection is dedicated to the wonder and joy of travel with our current collection being inspired by Paris- the City of Lights. The history and spirit of rebellion is alive in our silks patterns and easy Parisian silhouettes invade our made to measure offerings.

  • Made to measure

Made to measure tailoring is at the heart of what I do. I am pleased to offer a complete made to measure service for suiting, jackets, trousers, formalwear, and outerwear in New York City.

I have created a series of house silhouettes that express my vision of the brand and spirt of the location being explored in the current season. These house silhouettes are the Bond St. suit, wrap jacket, tailored wide-legged trouser, the classic chore jacket and tailored outerwear .

This season, we embrace softer fabrics, and oversized outerwear. We are happy to offer softer constructed jackets for a more French feeling along with our usual tailoring options.

  • Luxury accessories

Handmade with printing techniques passed down by artisans for generations and proudly made in England. Our scarves and pocket squares are hand finished with rolled edges.

Featuring patterns designed by Dan our pocket squares and scarves are truly unique. Seasonal collections are produced in very small quantities, capturing the essence of the place explored in the collection.

This season we are proud to introduce our Cluster Dot collection. Our take on a classic staple of menswear- the polka dot, these elevated basics will become a staple in anyone’s wardrobe as a pocket square or scarf.

about dan

Oak & Audubon is the dream and labor of love for its founder & designer Dan Stroupe. It is the culmination of decades of experience in luxury retail, custom clothing, design and creative direction.

Born in Charlotte NC on Old Oak Lane, he has lived in New York City on Audubon Avenue for over a decade. While the brand’s namesake is based on places he has called home, Oak & Audubon is an expression of the joy of travel, which he has been so lucky to experience all over the world.

He has a degree in Illustration and worked for many years as a graphic designer and art director while also working in the luxury clothing industry. He cut his teeth at Bloomingdales on 59th street, eventually moving on to world renowned shirtmakers Turnbull & Asser. He spent over a decade with T&A, serving business tycoons, actors, politicians, and royalty. Managing the bespoke services in the New York Townhouse and the By Appointment trunk shows for North America, and eventually internationally as well.

Along with Oak & Audubon, he is currently finding great success back in ready to wear- managing the Men’s Loro Piana business at Bergdorf Goodman.

He is looking forward to bringing his years of taste and expertise to you for all of your clothing needs at Oak & Audubon.
